In a world that is struggling with the increasing climate issues, the answers can be found in the most unlikely places. Introducing a new role model in the youth climate leadership is Meet Parth Singla, an outstanding 10-year-old Indian student who’s From Plastic to Breath: A 10-Year-Old Journey to Clean Oceans and Air is making an impact. Introduced in 2023 as part of the Parth Singla Youth Climate Learning Initiative, a project by youth with parental guidance. This project has already attracted more than 100,000 individuals across the globe, which is the evidence that young minds can be used to initiate radical transformation in the environment.
It is no longer a faraway news that plastic is choking oceans and the toxic air is threatening health; it is an emergency warning to the biodiversity and human well-being. However, the idea of climate action can be very abstract or intimidating, particularly among children. Conventional education fails to hit the nail on the head as not being emotional, creative and practical, it marginalizes youth as passive participants but not leaders. This is where the initiative of Parth comes in, which inspires the initial feeling of empathy and long-term habits, ground-up.
To the very bottom, the strategy of Parth is to make complicated problems seem like simple adventures. Using fascinating storytelling in the form of books, short stories, Instagram reels Parth creates emotional stories about life in the ocean and clean air. These devices, combined with DIY projects that are powered by STEM such as windmills that use clean energy, ensure that science is made real and entertaining.
One of the most outstanding inventions is the SEA-Keeper prototype, which is an ingenious model of plastic-collection, created to have an impact in the real world. The content will be delivered through a parent-run Instagram platform (username parthsingla2015) and youth magazines, which will be bite-sized lessons that encourage children to care and create and take decisive actions to save the planet.
The fact is a strong evidence based vales,
• 100,000+ international coverage over digital mediums.
• One million and above reels and videos views across India, the UK, and the US.
There are beyond measures qualitative ripple effects. Families express increased plastic pollution and ocean health awareness; teachers incorporate the materials in the classrooms; parents applaud the empathy-building stories. It has an estimated 100,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries’ children, families, and educators and promotes the sustainability of behavioural changes.
Sustainability is embedded into the fabric: the low-cost tools such as recycled materials and free online channels guarantee sustainability without the heavy infrastructure. By empowering young people to reproduce and innovate by projects such as the proposed Voices of the Sea global initiative. Parth is developing an intergenerational circle of young followers. This model can be easily scaled, and the schools and children around the globe are welcome to participate in the movement.
This glows in the Youth Climate category, which is a peer-driven action of authenticity. Parth does not merely create awareness. he acts through creativity and passion, addressing plastic waste, green energy, and air quality with the innocent perspective of a child. By so doing, he is a proponent of media literacy, creativity and collective power by demonstrating how the emerging generation can guide us to a prosperous planet.
